Leaders Seek Rewards through Creativity
By Martha Whittle

As discussed earlier, leadership is about leading your team towards a destination. How you get there is not set in stone. And so it shouldn’t be.

At BizXcel, our leaders are rewarded everyday because they don’t tell us how to achieve an outcome. They let us know the task at hand and leave it open to us as to how we accomplish it. It almost seems as if we are all leaders in the way we do our work.

When leaders allow their team to accomplish goals the way they choose, the teams creativity and ideas shine through their work. It’s like allowing someone to open up their heart and truly pour their soul into everything they do.

It also allows the team to feel as though every project is a challenge. A challenge as to how they can do it better than the last time. We’ve seen the same tasks fall through the hands of our teams and have completely different spins on their outcome.

It is starting to prove itself, that teams that follow a leader feel as if there isn’t a brick wall stopping them from doing what they love. A brick wall that makes them feel as everything is just another task, a task that makes them not want to come to work every day.

So, as a leader, you should consider allowing your team to pour creativity and excitement into their work. Not only will the outcome be a reward in itself, you’ll also notice a team that is more excited and anxious about coming to work and doing the “tasks” that are put at hand!
